I had it before once, with a Dominican family it was sort of like a soup/stew like consistency, it had green piegon peas and was served on top of white rice. The taste I can't really describe, it was not spicy, taste cilantro. I have a recipe right here. Can you please tell me if this is the same thing?

  4. Yes, you're right. I am  a  chef  in  the  cruise  ship  and  every week  we  are  in  Casa  di  campo  and  Serena  cay in Catalina Island. This  kind  of  soup  has  many  variations  and  depends to  what  region  in  Dominican  Republic  you  visit. This  can  vary  more spicy  and  more  thick  but  almost  same ingredients  like  your recipe.

  5. ReRe, this just to goooood!

  6. yeah my momz be making it all the time...

its also good with some chicken on the side

  7. yeah, this is the same thing. My mom makes this all the time, it's soooo good.

  8. Im dominican, that's called Guandules, you can make them with coconut, or without this, however they are good, and yes the recipe you have describe it nice, enjoy it.

  9. Can't tell you if this is the one that you had, but it is probably very similar.  Here is another version, that I have used:

It is a fairly common dish.
