Yes, but don't worry. When you drop the soap, it really doesn't feel that bad. In fact, I enjoy it.

privacy when showering is a very new idea, historically speaking

in the past at some schools swimming classes were done naked because some kids couldn't afford suits

no it is not odd.

the same thing is done at public Gym's and in high schools.

it's just a big room with shower heads coming out of the wall.
