Taxi are lined up outside of the Arrival Hall at the airport as you exit from Aruban customs.

Airport to the high rise resorts, the fare is $20 each way, additional $3 on Sundays. Fares are set by the government.

If your trip was booked through a travel agent or charter then you may have transfer

from airport to hotel/resort and back. If so, in your paperwork you will have a transfer confirmation.

Generally, such transfers are with DePalm. So the confirmation with DePalm's airport customer desk.

If you do not have such then you can book a round trip transfer with DePalm.

Rates are based on destination rather than mileage. These rates are set by the Aruba Department of Public Traffic.

Prices are per taxi not per person max 5 people.

Holidays and after midnight add one dollar to the rate.

Taxi drivers can refuse service it you are in wet swimwear.

The major "names" are at the airport (Hertz, Avis, National/Alamo, Budget,...)

As is done elsewhere, there is a extra charge for being "on site" and this is pasted on

to the renter.

Several other rental agencies are available off site. They will pick you up.

Go to visitaruba or aruba.com to look over some of these.

If you want to rent a car, do make an advanced reservation.

Often the on site rental agencies are booked and have no cars for

walk-ins.

you usually jut get a cab for about 10:00 if you are going from the airport to one of the palm beach high rises!
