I need to know my albino's parakeet gender

he has a pink cere and he's completly white

  1. Very well may be a female and in most cases it is.  


  2. How old is your bird? If he/she is not yet a year old then you have to wait until the bird matures. At first I thought all albino/lutino(they both have red eyes) budgies (parakeets) had pink ceres. But once I did my research, I found I was wrong. :-)

    Albino females will have crusty, dark brown ceres.

    Albino males will have pink. They will never be the usual dark blue.

    As for the "probably female" trait, I don't know if this would stand true. I have a lutino cockatiel and lutinos are "suppose to be" a male trait, but all three lutinos I've ran into (in a 2 month period) have been female! And just by using google I have found as many female luntinos as male.

  3. If its a female, its cere will grow brown rough stuff during mating season (October through March)
