I need to know of a Florida College that is not a Party school.?

I live in Florida and it is very beautiful except now I am planning on attending a university to major in Education. I do not want to go to a "Party School", I don't want to be distracted or anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a good university in Florida that is not known just for parties.

Also I will be attending college with my boyfriend, so I was wondering do any colleges let you stay in dorms with your boyfriend, or let you pick your roommate even if it is someone of the opposite s*x?

I went to Southern Illinois University, which was considered to be a major party school a few years back.  My opinion about "party schools" is that they're only party schools if you choose to use them in that way. I choose to not party and focus on my studies.  I'm sure that I'm a rarity, but I just never really got into the whole party thing, nor drinking.  It just doesn't seem to fit my personality, and I found it rather unappealing to hear about the stupid things classmates did while drunk.  But like I said, I'm probably a rarity.  

In terms of the dorms, some dorms may allow guys into your room, if the dorm is co-ed.  I have heard of one school in PA that allows for opposite s*x roommates, but I can't say for Florida. However, even if guys aren't "allowed" in your dorm or whatever, I'm sure that you'll be able to work things out around that.

If you don't want to be distracted then you shouldn't care about whether the school is having a party or not. Also no schools to my knowledge allow opposite s*x roommates. You may be able to be in the same building, maybe even the same floor but not in the same room.

Do not worry about the "party school" status that any university has.  Such a typology is often hyped-up by the media.  There is no escape from being bored and wanting to have fun.  Also, the second question is null-and-void since you can live off-campus with your boyfriend; it's sometimes cheaper and allows for more privacy.  Most importantly, you'll want to consider any specializations in the field of education you may be interested in, such as special needs education.

I have the perfect school I live in florida I live in Gainesville go to UF home of the gators thats where my son goes to med school it's a great university I think you'll love it. But not sure if you can have a dorm with a guy but you can share Apt. with other students that go to UF
