  1. It's still pretty hot there (unless you're going to Mandeville, with its superb temperature).  There is a risk of storms and hurricanes and yes, it is likely to rain at some point. However, it is less crowded and the cost of your holidayis lower, which is a big compensation. Nobody can predict what the weather is going to do and you might even get away without any rain at all. The weather pattern in the Caribbean over the past few years has taken everyone somewhat by surprise. Don't let the weather put you off!

  2. The trick to travelling in the middle of the huricane season is this:

    1. Stay at a good, all-inclusive hotel. They are usually very secure and the risk of being injured in a hurricane is VIRTUALLY NIL. They will have food, supplies, generators and everything you need.

    2. If you have stayed at a reputable hotel and your stay is interupted by a hurricane, they usually offer to either refund you for the hurricane days or give you back those days for a different trip. In some cases you will get to come back for your ENTIRE stay (even if its for a whole week and the hurricane didnt affect ALL the days).

  3. No one can predict when a hurricane will develop but it is the middle of hurricane season.  If it rains, it's a tropical rain which pours a half hour and then the sun returns and steams you with 95 percent humidity.  If you are scared of hurricanes and rain, vacation in the Sahara.  You'll enjoy the country even with a little rain.

  4. May and October are the rainy months. I would go in September. It is warm all year round so dress for summer. By September the hurricane season has died down

  5. Jamacia is hot and steamy in September or October.  This time of year is always less expensive be cause of the chance of storms or hurricanes.  If you are not comfortable about the hurricanes why not take a cruise?  If a hurricane hits a port the cruise ship just does not go to the port.  Instead you will be divereted to a beautiful day at sea away from the hurricane.  Cruise ships can move out of the way of a hurricane however if you are in a hotel you are either stuck in the hotel or can be moved to a shelter for the duration of the storm.
