i need to know two things

1 if the test lines are never visible then does that mean you are not ovulating

there are control lines just no test lines on any day

2 what day should you start seeing the test line (even faintly)

i got a test kit for 20 days and started the day after i got off my period

i have 8 test strips left and the others ive taken have only had control lines

pls help me I'm worried that I'm not ovulating

  1. I usually start testing after I stop my period. Maybe about 2 or 3 days after it ends. I dont get a test line until about CD 11 OR 12. Then they get darker everyday, then fade away then I get my positive.

Are your periods regular? If so then your prob. ovulating. I say if there more then 50 days then you might not be.

    Good luck hun.

  2. I followed what it said on the box for my cycle and started 11 days after the first day of my period. The first 2 days I got only 1 line on the 3rd day I got double lines which meant I was ovulating. Make sure you read the directions and started testing on the right day.

  3. You always have a small amount of the lutenizing hormone (the hormone ovulation predictor tests detect) so you may or may not have a faint test line on any given day.  When you have an LH surge  though (Which is what causes ovulation), that is when you will see a test line as dark as the control line.

Unlike pregnancy tests, where 'a line is a line' its not the same for ovulation tests.  The test line has to be as dark as the control line.

I usually started testing on day 10 (I have 31 day cycles) I usually had a very very faint line but it would get darker the day of my surge.

Honestly, I never had much luck with the test sticks.  I was never able to get a test line as dark as the control line.  I finally decided to buy the Clearblue Easy fertility monitor.  It takes the guesswork out of the whole thing!   I am 8 weeks pregnant and conceived on the second cycle using that :)

    best of luck to you!!
