I am wondering if anyone wants to answer this. I want to know about how much money I would bring home if I was making $14/hour in the state of VA. I am thinking about appyling for a job at a company that is kinda far from me. I want to know what my take home pay is before I spend it all on gas.

  1. Depends on many factors.  If you are talking about full time employment, your pre-tax income is $29120/year (based on 40 hour work week and 52 weeks/year).  If you are single and childless and this is the only income you have, your taxable income is $20370, meaning your tax is $2664.  If they withhold taxes based on this amount that would be about $102/pay period (or two weeks).  Looks like you may end up taking home around $1018 every two weeks.

Better talk with your Human Resources Department to find out exactly what your take home pay will be.  I haven't seen the 2008 tax tables yet, so these numbers are based on 2007.
