  1. The 6-2 rotation is fairly easy as long as you think about it this way.  On the floor at all times you will have 2 middle hitters, 2 outside hitters and 2 setters (or substitutes for them).  And each position is exactly opposite of each other (example...every time a middle hitter goes to serve, the other middle hitter is just coming to the front row, etc.).

Usually the confusing part is the fact that in a 6-2 offense, the setter is a backrow player that sets to all 3 front row players (the outside, the middle and the other setter).

A lot of times all of these players will not play all of the way around the 6 spots.  The most usual substitutes are the middle hitters going out of the game when they get to the back row (usually for the libero) and coming back in when they get to the front row.  Also sometimes there is a right side hitter that will come in for a setter when they get to the front row.

I hope this helps.  Good luck!!!

  2. Here is a layout of half of the court.

    1   2   3

    4   5   6

    ----------------    = net

    There are 2 setters, 1 & 6.

The setter will always come from the back row. So, once the ball is served, 1 would move to the setters position by the net. This will happen from every position in the back row, once 1 is in the front row, 6 will become the setter. And 6 will do the same as 1 did.

Sorry it's kind of confusing to write.

    Hope it helped some.
