Dimples and Freckles are both dominant traits. A person who is heterozygous for freckles and heterozygous for dimples mates with a person who is homozygous recessive for freckles and heterozygous for dimples.

Please provide the ratio of the following, freckles and dimples both present : freckles present and dimples absent : freckles absent and dimples present : freckles and dimples both absent.

  1. Dimples= D;   No Dimples= d

    Freckles= F;   No Freckles= f

    Person-1= Heterozygous for both= DdFf

    Person-2= Ddff (Homozygous for No freckles & Heterozygous for dimples)

    Gametes-

    Person-1= (4 types) DF, Df, dF, df

    Person-2= (2 types) Df, df

    cross them using punnett square,

    Pogeny = DDFf, DdFf, DDff, Ddff, DdFf, ddFf, Ddff, ddff

    Both present = (3) = DDFf, DdFf, DdFf

    F present D absent= (1) = ddFf

    D present F absent= (3) = DDff, Ddff, Ddff

    Both absent= (1)= ddff

    Ratio= 3:1:3:1
