My girlfriend and I are going camping this weekend and I dont know where to go. I don't like camp grounds so I want to find a spot near water even if a small hike is involved. I don't want to go much into BC but I can not stay in Banff National Park because I will get ticketed. If anyone can help it will save me lots of time.

  1. The winter games in Calgary in 1988 all the non mountain skiing events were held in Kananaskis country  just in the foot hills of the Rockie Mountains.  Banff is 90 min. from Calgary and it is a national park.  LOTS of camping in both spots.

  2. Bragg Creek is really nice, same with Kananaskis.

There are some great spots by Elbow Falls.

Take Highway 22X West past the Bragg Creek turnoff and you will find lots of places.

  3. I don't remember the name of the place, but there's a popular camping/recreation area somewhere around Bragg Creek that's supposed to be really nice.

If you live in Calgary, just ask around, I'm sure a lot of people know about it.....
