  1. Depends on the square footage of the filter grids. All that info should be somewhere on the filter.


  2. Find the maker of your DE filter.  Look them up on the Internet and download the owners manual if available.  When measuring DE, do not pack it or use a postage scale.  If packed you are putting More DE in than required.
