    anhydrous copper sulfate + steam

    That's the word equation; in chemical formulas it is:

    CuSO4.5H20 + heat → CuSO4 + 5H2O

    The water of hydration is driven off as steam or water vapor and the

    blue pentahydrate turns to a white solid (anhydrous copper sulfate).
