I need to know what's really, really, really wrong with the Cubs' offense?

Do you think the Cubs are getting more and more fundamentally dumber trying ot execute on offense? Are you still questioning the Cubs' ability to score runs? Will they ever snap out of it? What if they never snap out of it? Will they start blaming Soriano's prior absences?

  1. as someone has already said, it's a 162 game season so don't give up on the cubs. Just be thankful you are not a fan of  the same team as me....care to swap seasons with my guys, the seattle mariners? No, eh? Okay then, keep the faith--da cubbies will still be in it at the end of september.

  2. Can someone please give credit to the Marlins pitchers, they played a great game and didn't let the Cubs score many points. I think the Marlins pitchers have shown that they can beat a favorite in the world series. Soriano hasn't played in 6 weeks before the series started and hasn't got his timing down. What did you think, Soriano was going to pound home runs on his first 3 games from the disabled list?

  3. There's an old saying that goes:

"It's not how you start, it's how you finish"

Somebody should tell the Chicago Cubs a season of Major League Baseball is 162 games long. It doesn't stop at 100...

  4. The most glaring thing to me is the lack of Power from Derrick Lee over about the last 50 games. Only 3 home runs and a ton of double play ground outs by him. The other thing is I think they started pressing when Soriano was out of the Line-up. They quit taking pitchers deep into the count and didn't get into the opponents bull pen early like they did for about 75 game or so. Almost every player outside of the Starting pitchers have been slumping simultaneously which magnifies everything 10 fold.  It will even out and they will start scoring more and more runs.

  5. No offense, Cubbies fans, but facts are facts . . .

At least y'all are making it interesting.

EDIT:  Awright, let me break it down to ya simply, all humor intended, just the way Yogi Berra would.  "The trouble with the Cubs offense, you see, is that they are not managing to score more runs than the other teams offense is scoring."  Humor intended, not trying to be an @$$.

  6. It's the Cubs. Nuff said!

  7. They have the defense down, and in my opinion have the best outfield in the league....

I think that credit need be given to the Marlins pitchers over the last few days, as well as to the Cubs pitching both have done great jobs... The Marlins and Cubs matchup very well... and I don't think the offense not scoring runs is a permanant thing...

and you dont need to score 10 every night, sometimes 1 run can win it...
