I need to know what alternator would provide ample amps?

I am installing a Kicker ZX2500.1 to drive a Kicker Solo X Competition 12" d4vc in my 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. I don't have excel, so Sparky's page will not help me much. The present alternator is 80 amps, and barely runs the ZX750.1/L7 12" setup I have now. The only alternators I can find are 170 amps..through Summit Racing Equipment, for $450. Is 170 amps sufficient? I plan to add a 1,000 cold cranking amp Optima Battery in addition to the 750 cca batt. I have now as soon as I find one. Thanks...

yea that alternator should be good cause you have to remember your battery is pushing some amps out to you know so get an optima yellow top and do the big 3 on your car.
