  1. Firewire I think IEEE1394. Have you got an IEEE1394 card on your machine though?

You don't then you have to buy one.

  2. Use a firewire(aka DV, IEEE 1394). It will not be on fire but will give you a faster and higher resolution of your video of you dancing naked at your wedding or what ever you may record.

  3. You will need a firewire cable. Also check if your computer has firewire or not. If it doesn't then you will need a separate firewire card. If your computer is quite new or high end then it will most likely already have a firewire port, either on the front with the front USBs or on the back along with the USBs. It looks a bit like a USB socket but it is a bit wider and a couple of the sides are slightly bent. Once you have the cable and the slot. you simply plug your camera in and turn it on and a list comes up which says Blah Blah Blah so you select windows movie makeror whatever editing program you want to use from the list and go from there!

    Hope that helped.

  4. I would have hoped that it came with the firewire (aka iLink aka iEEE 1394) cable.

USB cables  are generally reserved for importing still photos.
