I remember ages ago i heard a metal song where the music was made up of power tool sounds and stuff...i cant remember who its by or what but it sounded great.

sounds like something the band Substance D might have done. And I think Slipknot have something like that on their demo CD, or first album..... also Primus may have something like that.
