  1. Your local shelter is probably your only option and that is truly sad.

After you move, please don't get any more pets.

  2. Local animal shelters kill them!

(you will HAVE to take the insults for this one)

I would find a SPCA which tries to find them homes.

And call some of the rescue places and see if they can suggest something.

WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO TRY TO DEAL WITH THIS????

You SHOULD TAKE THEM with you so you can have the mom fixed and get the kittens homes

Find a friend who will foster them.

It is against the law just to put the cat outside with her kittens.  You CAN be accused of animal abuse!  AND ARRESTED!

  3. I'm very sorry that the previous responses have been so immature and that these people refuse to understand unusual situations. Here's someone asking for help, and people are saying that they should be homeless themselves? You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Tell me that you've never been in a situation where you didn't know what to do, and had to ask for help. You are just being so brave and rude because you're anonymous, but there's no reason for that!

To answer your question, I am sorry that you have found yourself in this predicament, and I know it's hard to give the cats up to a shelter, but that is just what you have to do. That is, unless one of these people who are condemning you would like to take in eight cats.

  4. Try for friends, family and neighbors while you put them up for adoption. It really sounds like you didn't plan this very well. Did you call shelters in the areas near where you are moving? that may be the only solution. Kinda sad that you wouldn't find a place to keep them with you....

  5. Look in your phone book and try all the non-kill shelters again.  Some of them have temporary adoption people that will take on cats until a home is found for them.  Here Pets Mart will some times take on these pets.  Please do not discard them to the outside world.

  6. I would look on petfinder.com for rescue shelters in your area.  Call them and see if they can take your cats.  How come you can't take them with you?  I hope you can find them good homes.

  7. this is the last time i'm going to read one of these "can't keep my pets, where can i dump them" questions. it seems to me like you know the answer yourself. unless you can find a no kill shelter, or have a RESPONSIBLE friend or family member who can adopt them, your only option is the humane society or the animal shelter. stories like yours break my heart, not because i feel sorry for you, but because it tears me apart thinking about those poor cats and kittens, and what kind of life they've had and what they might be facing. they deserve so much better.

edit..polite one, i already have 9 cats and 3 dogs, all rescued.

  8. No negativity here, just constructive criticism: the time to plan for your cats if they cannot move with you is BEFORE the last minute. Otherwise, they are stuck without a home and without options while you take off to your new home.

Honestly, I cannot think of anything offhand, but it would help to know your location in case someone knows of resources in your area.

  9. Why the h**l didn't you think of this earlier?

Whatever you do, just please don't have pets again.

  10. These questions always start with "no negative comments".  Should we commend you for dumping off your pets after not even having them spayed to avoid bringing even more into the world to die? Unless you can find homes for them, your only option is to bring them to the pound. Maybe a no kill will pull them in time (at least the kittens) but most grown cats who are turned in to shelters will die. Please don't ever get another pet. Your responsibility level doesn't merit it.

  11. I agree completely with Pretty Kitty and catz, above.

My heart completely breaks for those poor animals who do not deserve any of this.

    *cries*

Try the HSUS, any  No-kill animal shelter, and/or the SPCA ...

    Good luck.

  12. It is difficult to place them within 24 hours, I assume you knew you were moving before just now.

Google local groups in your area and get on the phone :)

  13. Bring them to your local animal shelter.

  14. Try temporary foster parents and offer them some funds they rely on donations from people..

  15. negativity kept to myself. but in honesty you are PATHETIC. you should be homeless not them. pets are lifetime commitment remember that!

  16. you have obviously known for at least 2 maybe 4 weeks you were moving,so why on earth have you left it to the last minute to find homes for these animal.what you going to do if you cant home them tomorrow you will leave them behind or dump them somewhere.you know animals are for life not have now and dump later..
