I'm not entirely sure what type of "ad screen" you are referring to.  If you are talking about an advertisement inside of your web browser, then I'd recommend using Firefox with the AdBlock extension.  It works great at getting rid of all of the banner ads that clutter up your browser.

If you have a window that has popped up on your computer, then you probably have a virus or spyware has been installed on your computer.  I use AVG for both my anti-virus and spyware detection and quarantine.  They are both free, constantly update to the latest definitions and work in the background to keep viruses/spyware from attacking your computer.
