I need to learn how to do a split in 3 days! HELP!?

I've been a dancer all my life (I'm 14 y/o). For the past year and a half I haven't taken dance at all. I've lost a lot of my muscle and skills. But starting Monday I'm going to a dance camp, thank god. I figured before I start, I should know how to at least do a split. What are some good techniques I could use to learn how to do a split in 3 days? Thanks everyone!

  1. it depends how far off you are. If you're like 2 inches - no problem just sit in splits like every spare minute in the next three days.

    However if you're like a foot off teh ground its just not gona happen that will take like 6 months

  3. you cant really just learn gow to do the splits    its really a matter of stretching and working on ur flexibility

  4. You can't really expect your body to be able to adapt to that again if you haven't been dancing for a while. If you don't stretch properly you could to some serious damage to your muscles, and then throughout your dance camp, you would be doing even MORE damage to your muscles.

    My suggestion would be to maybe take a hot bath to warm your muscles, and then begin to stretch in the morning and evening. Work on your splits AFTER you have thoroughly stretched. Don't expect yourself to be in the splits in one night though!

  5. Since you don;t have a lot of time you probably won't get completely down, but go down in each of your splits for 6 minutes for the next 3 days. Don't go over 6 minutes, if you want to do it 3 minutes in the morning and 3 minutes before bed that would work. Hope I helped :)
