I need to make a 3-D model of the digestive system any ideas something other than Plasticine or Play-doh

What's wrong with plasticine? Artists have made anatomical models for ages out of wax:

But if you don't want to use this...

The digestive system is basically a tube.

You could make one out of:

mouth - a potato masher

esophagus - just a clear tube

a sealed bag filled with chloric acid for the stomach

add gall if you can find it from a chicken with a syringe... here you can buy a just-killed one with the guts in place

small intestine - another clear tube

large intestine - a pantyhose so it will let the water out, but it'll be messy

then pass some food through the 'model', squeezing the tubes, to demonstrate its progress. To make the joints sealproof you can wrap the tubes around something rigid and tighten a hose clamp around it.

Depending on how well it has to keep you could get some intestines from a slaughter house.

Styrofoam is cheap and easy enough to work with the right tools but you have to carve it right 'cause you can't bend it.

Depending on necessary realism you can get flexible pipe from the hardware store in multiple widths and paint it.
