Question:

I need to make a PPT presentation about anything which is debatable which would appeal to teenagers?

We can include things like videos from youtube or shoot our own videos from real life, we can use songs, etc..Any ideas on anything interesting to teenagers which isnt just giving facts but opinions can be shared and something can be learnt from it...

  1. The danger of drug, alcohol and s*x with real life stories.

    Also, promote students to answer the following questions:

        a) Why does this country have 40% of high school dropouts every year?

        b) Why 30% of our great US army are dropouts?

        c) Why  are American students  not interested in math & science? As a result, more and more highly paid jobs have been outsourced to India, China, ....?

        d)  Are our teachers fully qualified to teach our students ? Should all the teachers being asked to take  an annual board certified  qualification examination before each school year begins?

       Believe me, those questions will help stir up the water to push the school system to change for the better.

  3. Are reality tv shows going overboard?  

    Are drinks like Red Bull harmful or helpful?

    Do high school administrators have the right to determine what kind of couples can attend prom? (heterosexual vs homosexual?)--it's not a debate b/w wheter being homosexual is right or wrong- it's a debate about whether high school administrators have the right to impose their morals on high school students

    Do colleges have the right to to kick students out for off campus behavior?

    Why should/shouldn't parents have the right to know what grades you earn in school? (privacy issues)

    To piggyback off of "confused" below-

    --the 30% that are high school dropouts- what percentage go on to earn high school degrees through the military?

    --why is it that girls are less likely to study math and science as opposed to boys?

    And to piggypack off of Lisa P:

    --what can we do to curb vio.lence that stems from watching tv and using videogames? (beyond the obvious of setting limits on how much time a person can view them)--this would be a good topic as it would get people to problem solve--which is a good skill for teenagers to hone
