Mmkay, I need to make a fairy tale. I need some ideas.

It has to start with "once upon a time" or "long, long ago."

End with "and they all lived happily ever after."

Fantasy and make believe in it.

Good vs. evil.

Magic.

Moral.

Problem that is solved.

I just need an idea to help me get started.

This is also due Wednesday, we only have two days to work on it in class and it was given to us Friday, so I need ideas fast.

long long ago there were fairies and it wasn't  going to well because there were evil and good fairies gnawing at each other and at the and they stop good vs. evil and lived happily ever after

what grade are you in?  i'm a senior in college and taking a capstone history course in fairy tales.  our final assignment is to write a fairy tale.  the only thing is that i'm sure our requirements are going to be very different from yours.  regardless, this might help.

fairy tales are reflective of the time period they're written in.  they're essentially little historic accounts.  ever notice how when given 3 wishes, the first thing they ask for is food?  it's because they were living through famine.

some fairy tale scholars have determined certain frames for fairy tales that will make it pretty easy for you to build a story around.  1) virtuous child  2) child leaves home or is forced from home  3) a helper is introduced (a dwarf that provides shelter or gives a magical gift that will help later)  4) battle or test and subsequent victory  5) the triumphant return home  6) marriage and crowning as king or queen

i hope this helps.  it should be pretty easy to just drop in a few names.  further more, if you ever go through all of grimm's fairy tales, most of them are literally repeats of each other with just a tiny name change or something like that.  so don't worry about your fairy tale sounding too much like one that's already written.

you could have something like; there were once three princesses, and a dark witch, that turned out to be a sister of three princesses and wants to get revenge because when they were children the three princesses took all of the attention and no one noticed her.

i guess that's something to start with =)
