Question:

I need to make recovery disks for my PC, what are the best DVD type?

DVD-RW? DVD RW? DVD-R? am i missing something here? I need a bunch of them too?

I will not us CD as it take 16 for 1 computer and I have 2 computers, the DVD type takes 3 per computer.

but i do not understand the 4X or 8X or 16X? which is best?

  1. DVD-R or DVD+R. You are making recovery discs, which only need to be written to once; a DVD-RW or DVD+RW can be overwritten later (which you do not need). The speed does not matter much; if you get DVDs with a faster read/write speed, the recovery discs will be written to faster (but in order to actually use a high writing speed, your hardware and the burning application need to support it).


  2. You need a DVD which you can Read/Write to in blocks.

    The DVD-RW will be best option
