The good old toilet paper rolls are good! cut the ends so you can fold them down to make a container and fill it with treats or food and cut the other end to fold it down too, use masking tape to secure the ends, the hammy will have a blast chewing through it to get the food out! You can also make a climber out of sisal twine(look in wal-mart where they sell screws and stuff it's cheep too) You  can braid it to make a bridge and tie pieces of twine off the edges for the hammy to climb, plus it's safe for them to chew. If you get the thinner sisal twine you can tie on pieces of safe wood for the hammy to chew. You can make a popsical stick house for the hammy too, just make sure they use the non-toxic white glue! You can even get a bunch of easy to find hamster safe stuff(toilet paper rolls, popsical sticks, wood pieces, twine, string ect)

THEY LOVE TOILET PAPER ROLLS AND PAPER TOWEL ROLLS.  THEY ALSO LOVE TOILET PAPER AND MAKE A NEST OF IT TO SLEEP ON.

they love paper towel rolls to climb in and out of ! i read that some hamsters are interested by shiny things.. they said try taking him out of his cage and dragging a spoon across the floor.. they will follow it all over! also try putting a carrott on a string and pulling it.
