I need to move my directv receiver from the master bedroom to another bedroom?

what is my best option.? do i have to call directv or is something that i can do myself?. i tried moving the receiver to the other room plug it into the other room cable but does not r work . i only get a looking for satellite signal...any help will be appreciate it

You need to go out to the box where your cables meet up.

Walk around your house, you should see a place where the dish attaches to a box called a multiplexer. It will have a bunch of cables sticking out of it. One of them is the room where the TV was. Remove the one for the room where your TV used to be. Plug in the room where you want the TV to be.

Its not hard to do. You can call DirecTV if you want too, but if you can unplug a coax cable you're qualified.
