If you mean homework helper, as in helping you with your school studies, and you can afford to pay a tutor, then take a look in the classifieds ads section of your local newspaper. There are usually a dozen or more ads of people with expertise and training offering their services.

If you can work on your own you also have the option of going to a good bookstore or educational supplier. Talk to the person behind the counter and tell them what you need. If you need help with spelling or grammar you can purchase a student workbook aimed at whatever level or grade suits you best.

As a homeschooling student my son bought a 'test your grammar' work book for grade five students when he was aged 14  because he wanted to improve the way he wrote. A year later he was publishing his own tutorials on the internet about the computer game he was playing at the time. Whenever he didn't understand something he'd search on Google for an explanation. I could have helped him, but he found learning on his own easier.

So you can teach yourself - there are plenty of resources in shops and on the internet to help you learn just about any subject. Don't be shy about going back a grade or more - start where you are at and work your way forward. If you are teaching yourself it doesn't matter what other people think because they don't need to know.

If you are an adult and want help learning how to read and write you should be able to find free support services for adult literacy either on the internet or in your local community. Major cities usually have helpful services that is confidential and discreet. Look it up on the internet or in your local telephone or community directory.
