I have a translating website and I am currently using google adwords to advertise it. I also really want my website to come up on google near the top when someone searches "translating", when you type in the name of my website "linguauk" then my site comes up 4th and but i want it to come up when you type in translating, I know that is a very competitive word, but how is it possible, i know it is because other sites have done it. Please look at my website www.linguauk.com

Thanks for comments

  1. Backlinks the best way to increase your page rank! read this and you'd know why backlinks are way to go. Make sure u leave comments on every blog you visit, participate in forums and social book marketing

    2. thing you could do is add a  meta tag so its easier for good to find you

    3. Important step is creating a sitemap for your site here are step by step instructions

  2. Your search results assumes that your domain name "linguauk" is a major "brand," which it is not.  You have to place yourself into the mindset of a prospective client who doesn't know your business entity, much less the exact name of it.  It would be reasonable to believe that a search query would begin with generic words and phrases such as "translating document(s)" followed by a "business location" such as "Plymouth, United Kingdom."  Unfortunately, no such "keywords" are placed in the beginning <title> nor in the following <keywords> or <description>.  Instead, the <keywords> metatag is filled with duplicate [spamdexed ] entries such as "translating (10 duplicate entries); "translation (4 duplicatesentries).  Spamdexed entries are heavily penalized by a lower PR [Page Rank] on Google and Yahoo search engines/directories.

In conclusion, it is highly recommended that your remove the spamdexed/duplicate entries and to vastly improve your visibility on major search engines, edit your <title> metatag as follows:

<title>Translating Business Documents Italian, French, English | Plymouth, United Kingdom [do not abbreviate]</title>

    Good luck!

  3. Have lots of back links coming to your site for your targetted keyword.

  4. Hi out there..

    it look's good..

but you want your website to come up on google when someone searches "translating" for this you need to do "SEO" this mean search engine optimization. with seo this can be done. so go for seo. i know an seo company which is the best i feel (i have worked with this) it is www.theseotraffic... jsut look at it you may also like it..

    good luck

    bye.

  5. you should put nude pictures up on the site so more people go there.

i think that should optimize it quite well.

    ha :P

  6. Wow, 4th position when searching for a keyword in your domain name, that's harsh. You need to concentrate on developing as many incoming links as possible from other websites. This will improve your site popularity, which will improve your ranking. Try getting your chosen keyword placed in the links back. Other than that, you could also have a look at your websites design and think of ways of improving your keyword count. You won't ever achieve a top ranking for "translate", as there are over 104 million (104,000,000) pages competing for that.

  7. You need to build your backlinks as well as optimizing your on-site content - keep in mind - you will not see results over night. You are competing against over 18 million pages for that keyword phrase, so you should plan on working on it for a year or more before seeing your site on the first page.

  8. Here is a checklist, with 6 main steps:

    http://www.scribd.com/doc/13143/SEO-Docu...

It also describes a few things to understand about how Google in particular works when ranking pages.

    basically it's like this:

1 - determine your best keywords

2 - create pages with content using your keywords

3 - create metadata (title, header, etc) with your keywords

4 - Have a sitemap page, and link pages to home and home to pages

5 - Submit your site to search engines (you don't need to for Google, they will find you)

6 - get set up on a link exchange program

I've tried it, and it works,

I have found a couple of no-bull sites for serious people that want to jam the search engines with everything they need to make the sites fly to the top:

    LeadMaverick.com

    dbcanvas.com

  11. Back link is good but if you are not an expert ,its better to engage some SEO company or you can even try CPC ( cost per click) ads so you can increase traffic to your website. or swap the link with other website owners who are not your direct competitors.
