I need to pay tax owed to the ATO for the 2007-2008 financial year.?

I live and work in Australia.

I owe tax to the Australian ATO for the financial year which ended on June 30th 2008. Being completely new to all this, I need to know the simplest method of paying my tax, and when the deadline for me to pay is. I don't want to get any fees for paying late, so this information would be really appreciated! I believe it is October 2008 - is this correct??

why don't you just call the ATO and ask them? they'll give you the right answer.

Your tax return is due by 31 October 2008.

same thing happened to me, after it is lodged, you will nedd to get a notice of assessment, there wpould be a slip for yopu to pay it, like me i couldnt pay all ppof it at once, so i arranged payment, $20, a week. or you cpould pay it in full

I presume you have already lodged a tax return?  If you look at your notice from the tax office there is different payment options.  Pay over the internet using bpay, Australia Post, or send them a cheque.  

You have until the end of october to lodge your tax return however you can lodge a few months later if you do your tax return through a tax agent.
