I want it to be low maintenance and with a budget, but still entertaining with activities, food, music...etc. I don't have a pool or anything that could entertain people in that sense, but I do have a decent size backyard with a new grill. I'm estimating that I'll probably hand out around 50 invites so I totally need help with this mission.. What to do, what to eat, how to prepare.....HELP..

  1. Hi,

Get easy finger foods for munchies, such as chips and some dips from the local grocery store. For your grill, you can buy chicken wings that are already spiced. These are easy to cook and makes you look like a star. Get a few yard games from a toy store that do not need to be explained and your guests will seek out the ones that entertain them. If you can hook some speakers to your computer, find an internet music feed that meets you taste so you won't have to be changing CDs all the time. Be sure to have separate coolers for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (Remember those designated drivers). Have fun and Happy Birthday.

  2. You provide the food and have everyone bring their own alcohol.  Have a case of beer and some bottles of wine and maybe something fizzy so you have something to offer people if their alcohol runs out or maybe a welcome drink.   For an adult party you don't need games I don't think.  I'm 28 and I wouldn't want to play games but that's just me.

Food can be sausages and shishkebabs and some salads.  Your close friends will volunteer to help and bring some food.

  3. i think that is an excelant idea how about hooking up your ipod and play that and volleyball activities cheeseburgers and hotdog and pop or some thing!

hope i could help good luck!!

  4. Food - BBQ hamburgers/Hot dogs..then make it all buffett style.

Appetizers are easy and not expensive to make..

*Buy those little sausages or already made meatballs...put in crock pot..add BBQ sauce and Grape Jelly..let simmer...your guests are going to say WOW..

*then get some chips - but offer many different dips...Salsa, F/onion/Ranch/g'mole.

    **Potato Salad/Pasta Salad

Bettycrocker.com - has a lot of cool things to do for BBQ's.

  5. One of the easiest things to fix for a crowd, and stay on a budget, is hamburgers and hot dogs.  Potato salad, a pot of baked beans and potato chips complete the meal.

Or you could provide the meat (chicken b*****s, ribs, pork chops, a turkey, whatever) and solicit salads and/or dessert items from some of your friends.  Either way you get to use your new grill.

Play your favorite tunes in the background.  Lawn croquet, lawn darts, etc, are always fun.  If games aren't your bag, why not try something funky and fun.  Ask everyone to wear a funny hat and part way through the day take a vote from the group to see who wins the Funny Hat Contest.  Have a prize available for the winner.  That would create a diversion for awhile, and other than that, just visiting with good friends at a 26th birthday party sounds wonderful to me.  Happy Birthday!
