Question:

I need to "cut" music for my Poms routine?

I'm on Poms.

Right now I'm in the process of making up a whole dance routine.

I need a program that allows me to "cut" the music because I only want certain parts of the song. You know, when you see a routine and it goes in from one song to another without something having to do it, what can I download FOR FREE that allows me to do that. Thanks so much.

  1. I second the recommendation for Audacity.  It's a great little piece of software, free to download and pretty easy to use (my mother can use it and she's far from technical!).  Just make sure you download all the extra plug-ins as well as some of them are very useful.  Audacity does some stuff that I couldn't get a very expensive top-of-the-range sound editing program to do...

  2. Oh! There's this program called "Audacity" that you can use to edit and cut music. I'm also a dancer and I was teaching camp at my dance studio over the summer and I needed to cut some songs for routines I was choreographing...and I found this one! Its not that hard to use and its free.

    Hope I could help! :)

  3. I've used GoldWave.  My son recommended it, and has used it more than I have.

This evaluation version is limited to 150 commands each session and 2000 commands total before you would need to purchase the software.  Most casual users won't need more than 2000 functions for a long time.  By the time someone uses 2000 functions you will know whether or not you like the program well enough to purchase it.
