We already do all the typical stuff... I'm looking for charitable DONATIONS from my community (Lantana, FL)... if there were some organizations I could call on to make some charitable donations this would go a long way.

  1. go to your county's website and look under health and human services.  you should be able to locate some organizations there who might be willing to help out.

    good luck!

  2. I think the above answers give you a lot of good info -- so I'm not going to repeat it. Especially getting the media involved, very helpful.

But also getting a team of volunteers to make the calls. And going in person when you can. It can be so easy to say "no" to a telephone call, but when someone is smiling and nice and standing in front of you -- it is much harder to say "no" to someone in your community that needs help. So if you can get a team of volunteers and divide up businesses in your community and make personal visits -- you might be very successful.

Have some sort of "thank you for your donation" mini poster (can print at the copy shop) that the business can post in their store or other business. This lets them tell the community that they supported you, and will also remind other community businesses that it would be nice to support you. You can make a letter sized poster using MS Publisher and some clip art and your logo. Very easy -- and it really, really works wonders!

    Good luck!

  3. Go to your local chamber of commerce, and asked for a list of companies involved in the chamber.  If this is something that would benefit the local economy and give them exposure, I am sure they support you.

  4. You can do a magazine fundraiser with my company, what that is, is that you have my company’s catalog, and sell the stuff in it to people, in return you make a profit of 35-45% .  Also I understand you may not have  money,  are company pays for all of the  materials,  the books, and shipping of the materials too you, so try it out; you have nothing to lose. Well just email me: Info@J-DProducts.com or you can email me with yahoo.

  5. I've found the fastest way to raise funds is to get the plight of the organization out in the public eye.  Contact local news outlets, radio, newspaper, and television with a press release stating the need, what the charity has done in the past and why the need has arisen example: economy, gas prices, predatory lenders, government, etc.

Close with the importance of the organization to the community and use statistics if they are available. It also doesn't hurt to have testimonials from those who have benefited from the charity.
