I have thought about cinder blocks, but wasn't sure if the wheels would slip off the blocks and online solutions are near $100 for a set of supports, but that's not in my price range!

  1. Bigger wheels !

  2. With a metal frame you can cut the wheels off and extend the frame by either welding on extra pieces. You can get offcuts at a reduced price from steel merchants. Or you can find a slightly larger piece of metal to fit over then leg and drill holes through and bolts in on. You also get rubber feet for metal pieces that the steel merchants or DIY places sell.

  3. put two box springs on it, then the mattress--would be close

  4. As has already been mentioned, most of those bedframes with wheels... the casters can be removed pretty easily.

If you'd rather not do that, then you might check into a 'bed riser'.  These come in a variety of sizes, and many are made so that you do not have to remove the casters.

Some of those on that link only raise a few inches.... but would be ideal if you wanted to use a 'cinder' / cement blocks under them.

Do a search on 'bed riser' for more options.

    Good luck

  5. On most 'wheel bed frames' the Wheels just 'pop' in/out. See if they'll come out and you will find your solution. Once they're out put it up on Blocks.

  6. Well you could unscrew them. or pop them out. Ans there are lifter you could actually buy from bed bath & beyond. I owned them and they are plastic set of 4 but are very sturdy and work great & very cheap!
