I have problem in taking off the gear, the part with a lot of clog wheel off the rim.

  1. It's usually the spokes on the freewheel/cassette side that break because those spokes are under greater tension due to wheel dishing.

    You have to take of the freewheel/cassette to get the new spoke in. It's not difficult with the right tool, but the technique/tool varies with the specific freewheel/cassette (See link). If you haven't done it before you would be wise to go to a bike store and have them take it off for you ... watch and and buy the right tool for next time.

    You can then install the new spoke, true up the wheel and reinstall the cassette/freewheel yourself if you want ... or have the shop do the whole job to see how it's done.


  2. There should be no reason to take of the gear. Take of the tire and inner tube. Loosen the nut holding the spoke in place using a small adjustable wrench or a 'spoke key'. Replace the spoke, don't tighten it too much or you will start too warp the rim. You need too know the size of the rim if you are buying a new spoke.

  3. I would go to bike store.
