The previous owners must have taken them for whatever reason. It is a fairly steep stairway leading from garage to living room...I don't need quality wood as I just need some hand rails to make it safe to sell this foreclosure. WHO does this? Handyman? Can you buy the rails at home depot or do they need to be custom made? I need to get this done like yesterday..help! thanks

  1. You can probably do this yourself get to your local big box hardware store e.g. h/d lowes they will have pvc handrails all ready put together and ready to install. I don't know if this is inside or outside but wood will work for both. if O/S get pressure treated if I/S get maple or pine both comes in a "D" or bread loaf style.  The pvc is all ready angled at approx. 37degree angle built for stairs just have to attach them, Lags or bolts will be needed but tell hardware salesman what you have to attach too. If needed the store will have a book that will teach you how. Its pretty simple and will save you some bucks and add knowledge to your do it yourself library. Good Luck!!!!

  2. if it's temporary and it can be anchored into the earth vs concrete, then yeah, any handyman can throw something together for you (wood). be sure he understands you wont be needing concrete pads etc...  just something to get you by. good luck!
