I need to replace my passenger side dashboard speaker in my 99 Chevy Blazer.?

However, there is a plastic k**b looking thing protruding through the speaker vent. I took off the vent and it is connected to a wire, but the speaker on the driver side does not have this. Can anyone tell me what this is before I go about replacing the speaker? I also can't find the specs on what kind of speaker it is or what size....I have the Bose sound system Thanks in advance for the help.

  1. That's the light sensor for your vehicle's automatic headlights.  It's not part of the speaker system.  You can ignore it.

    Usually the dash speaker in a Blazer is a factory tweeter in a 4x6 adapter plate.   If you're keeping the stock radio and the rest of the Bose speakers, your best option is to obtain a factory replacement for your blown speaker, rather than try to make an after-market tweeter work.  Check with a GM dealer parts department.
