I need to research fuel-efficient cars. Any suggestions for good brands?

It's a science project, and I need to find a car that appeals to me both visually and environmentally. I've already seen these brands: Smart, Toyota, and Honda. Any suggestions help.

My Honda has done fine at about 34 to 40 mpg.

Tesla Motors has an all electric car with great characteristics for about $100,000.

Kia's get good gas mileage, and are a lot cheaper to buy.

you should check out lexus they have the first luxury hybrid! it's good for the environment and looks awesome!

Available in California in October 2008, the Aptera typ-1e will cost about $27,000 with a top speed of 95 mph and range of 120 miles per charge.
