I need to return a package because I need a replacement on the item I received, can I return to sender?

The item was broken. Can I just write "return to sender" on the 'repackaged' package (looks good as new)? Or do I have to pay the postage to send it back??

  1. No, it would have to be original, unopened packaging.

Read your invoice for return instructions. Some companies require you call and get an RA # first.

I think the cheapest and simplest way to ship would be to go to the postal web site, www.usps.com , use click and ship and leave the package for your mail carrier.

I do quite a bit of shipping, have a fed ex acct, a UPS acct and still use usps click and ship when I can because it's cheaper.

  2. You probably have to call the place you bought from and tell them you are returning.  They may  give you a reference number for you to put on the shipping label, and they will tell you the correct address to return to.

I know you can return without paying through FedEx, but they do not deliver to PO Box addresses ... so if you need to use the post office you'll probably have to pay.  With UPS you can also 'return to sender' but I'm not certain if they can deliver to PO box addresses
