  1. run everday...work up to 3 miles a day, then work on going on the pace.

    no problem

  2. Run the mile once or twice a day to condition yourself, and aim for a better time each time that you run.  You'll be amazed how much your time will improve over a month.

    Good luck!

  3. Agreed with the Flamingo Kid!

  4. Eat less you lard

  5. run on a threadmill and train your legs

  6. I would start doing "interval" work on the track.  For example ...run at a 7 minute mile pace but do it for 1 minute. Take a walking break for a minute then repeat the cycle again.  Do the cycle approx. 5 - 8 times or as much as you're comfortable with.  Work out every other day and increase your running time each work out.  You can keep your rest time the same or decrease it also.  The most important thing is to increase your running time to eventually 7 minutes.

  7. Don't worry about Mark R - he obviously has self-esteem issues.  He thinks he's being witty or original, but in fact he's just doing what people who feel bad about themselves always do - trying to bring others down so he feels better..

I agree with the people who suggested you do interval training and also do at least one longer run per week - 3-4 miles, at a slow pace. Both of these methods will improve your endurance.  One month might be a challenge, but if you're really dedicated it's possible. Good luck!
