Question:

I need to save a file as dbaseIII, but i am using vista and excel 2007 and i do not get that as an option...?

so is there another file type that is the same thing, or is there some sort of download i can do to get that option?

just in case it helps, i am wanting to save the file as dbaseIII because i need to open it in foxpro, make some changes and then import it into the software i am working on.

any info will be appreciated. please and thank you.

  1. OK, I'm still on XP/Excel 2003, so I can't see what you're seeing.

    While you have your Excel file open, try:

    Click on File menu

    Click on Save As

    Click on File Type (at the bottom of the Save As window)

    Scroll almost all the way to the bottom

    Select DBF 3 (*.dbf)

    If you don't have the DBF selections, try saving it as a *.csv file or a *.txt file.  Go into dBASE or FoxPro and see if you can open it.

    I do a lot of these conversions.  If the first solution isn't do-able, try the second.
