So I got this letter from an 88 year old woman. It was addressed to her grandson, and I want to get it to him. The grandson's name is Eric A. Lanpher.

My sister had a baby about 6 months ago and her son's name is Deric A. Lampley so she thought it was his and opened it. (and I read it.) It is such a heart warming letter it is most of the reason why I want this Eric child to get his letter. So if anybody can help me, or give me some advice to searching for this kid it would really help.

And if I can't find the boy. I'll end up having to send an apology letter to the grandma.

  1. I found a couple of Google hits for Eric A. Lanpher, P.E., Mechanical Engineer.  Check him out.

There are 29 Google hits for "Eric Lanpher". It's not that common a name. If you have an idea of how old this grandson is--and he could easily be 40, this is not a hard problem. You just have to keep at it. You can take a people search site and look for him in all 50 states.

  2. Send it back to grandma.  The longer you hold onto the letter, the longer she may believe it arrived to the appropriate person.  She maybe able to call the child's parents to find him or another relative.

It's one thing to open a letter that doesn't belong to you (it happens) but it's another thing to post someone's name on here totally invading their privacy.

Send a note to grandma saying the envelope was opened in error due to your nephew having a similar name and apologize.  Grandma has more connections to her grandson than you and the sooner she gets the letter, the sooner her grandson will get his letter.

  3. How was this letter delivered. Grandma should know her grandsons address.
