historically one of the best retirement strategies is Dollar Cost Averaging into index funds such as the S&P 500 Index, Mid Cap 400 Index.

  2. i can relate...

  3. i know this might sound stupid but

    save bottles n cans

it takes a while to make a good profit but you cant spend bottles like you can spend money so it kind of forces you to save and when you have a bunch you can cash in

  4. Try writing down everything you spend for a month (week if you can't make it). Then write it all down and allocate it into categories.  This way you can pinpoint what you are spending too much/too little on.

Also, my friend told me of this $20 challenge. Where you try and live off $20 for a week by any means necessary. Some results...personal gratification, increase in weekly savings, experiences that arise as you become poor, which increases your chances that you will sustain some of your newly acquired habits in the future.

    Some quick money-saving tips:

    1) Grocery store--look for items below eye level which are generally much cheaper (i.e. cereal in bags).  Also, clip coupons and buy when there are good sales.  Also, try not to make any impulse shopping buys at the end of the grocery store (i.e. magazine, candy, soda, newly released DVDs)

    2) To save gas, do several trips at one time.

  5. yup heres the best advise youll get

stop trying to save and just force your self too

start a 12 month cd at the bank and every paycheck IMMEDIATELY DEPOSIT 10%

that way you cant get at the money for a year so you have to train yourself not to rely on it

  6. get a part-time job in your favourite store, that way u could get a discount from that store
