  1. First off congration for breastfeeding you child for so long.  It doesn't have to stop, do you have a breast pump.   Try and pump extra, as much as you can and freeze it.  If you have like two weeks before your vacation you can build up more than enough, at the age they don't need as much.  Try and get him used to a bottle to nurse with so that it won't be so hard.  Bring the pump with you on vaction and pump maybe when you get up and before you go to bed, it should keep up your supply and as a bonus keep you from becoming engourged during you vacation.  Once you come back you can restart nursing him.  Just a added noted, they is nothing wrong with extentend breastfeeding for toddlers, it has many health benefits for your child.

  2. Congrats on over a year. But going on vacation does not have to stop breast feeding. It is all up to you of course, but if you build up a supply now, and just pump some while on vacation you can continue nursing and let your child wean himself.

  3. Start by not feeding him as often....well I mean like nurse him 3 times a week then just work your way down. I'm sure there will be a lot of crying because that's what he's used to.  If not talk to a doctor and see what they recommend.

  4. Try using a sippy cup between feedings to start.
