the theme is valentine's day and the letter is "g". Both easy topics, but i want to incorporate the letter "g" into the valentine day theme. the only thing i could come up with was making Giraffe hand puppets out of brown paper bags that are red, pink or white and instead of sopots, using hearts that the kids can glue on. Any other Ideas would be much appreciated. just to note, i only have 45 minuets to teach the lesson if not a bit less. Any ideas appreciated! thanks

  1. That is a very cute idea - are they focusing on the soft sound of G though?  We always focus on the hard sound as in goat but I love the idea of hearts for spots.  you could even glue on conversation hearts for the spots if you don't have any food allergies.

Good luck!  Remember glue starts with G too!

  2. G: gifts...i.e. a valentine

  3. Good Day!

How about cutting paper in heart shape. Draw something into the heart shaped paper - things that starts with letter G. Once done break it into two...Ask your students to locate for the other half of the heart with the correct picture (or you may try as well giving each student half of the heart then ask them to locate the other half by searching through their classmate's heart ) it is some sort of a puzzle though we are speaking of 2 parts only.... in this manner, they may as well learn motor skills,  social skills and other skills as well...

I hope my suggestion helps you...

  4. This is too cute!

    Have fun!

  5. How about making a valentine card and make the key word, "Great"

Have the children decorate a card then on the inside write (Xerox) - Happy Valentine's Day!

You are GREAT because_________________________________...  Love,   _______

Have the children finish the sentence.
