I currently live in Tennessee and have car insurance with Farm Bureau. I will be moving to South Carolina in two weeks and need to transfer my car insurance there. Is this a difficult process and will my rates increase/decrease if I stay with the same company?

  1. Under your circumstance,I suggest here for you to have a visit.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  2. I recommend you find a local car insurance agent to help. Since I live in Washington I can't suggest an agent in Tennessee, but here is an online resource that can help you. http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com/Te...

    Good Luck.

  3. Check with your insurance company to see if they even provide coverage in South Carolina - if so, then it's an easy transfer to do.  You would just have to give them your new information and they can give you a updated rate.

If they don't provide coverage there, then you have to start all over again.  Try going with a larger company.  I have been with GEICO for well over 10 years and they have been amazing.  My rates dropped when I moved from NY to FL.  Oddly, when I made a local move in FL, the rate went up.  Then again, it was to one a county with some of the most dangerous roads in the state!

Hope that helps - even if just a little bit!

    Good luck to you!

  4. Contact your current agent. They should be able to tell you if it is offered in SC. rates are dependent on the State and can change either way.

  5. Alex Rogers, I suggest you find a nearby auto insurance agent to help. Since I live in Illinois I can't recommend anyone in Tennessee, but here is an website that can help you. http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Auto-I...

    Good Luck.
