I need to transfer to a different state national guard. Do i need to go online to find a unit?

I'm moving from Iowa to Texas and I'm in the Army National Guard. My transfer request was approved by my commander in the Iowa Army National Guard but I've heard that I need to get online and somehow find a unit on my own. Is this true or should i just wait it out and see what happens?

umm you need to contact the texas national guard you don't necessarily need to get online for that. you do need to talk with them about a transfer  you may want to get online and find the closest base to the city you want to live beforehand so you can give them an idea
