I need to transplant a hibiscus plant and some rose bushes. Any tips or suggestions.

  1. wait.... all plants do better in a transplant if they're dormant... or in their slowest growth time... roses need to have lost all leaves ... hibiscus, if hardy and out in the soil, also.....

    if it's NOW or the plants die, then pick a cloudy day, as cool as possible, early morning..... have the new spot ready ahead of time.... dig up as much rootball as you and two mean men can handle, so that the plants don't 'notice' that they've been moved... settle them in with a good watering  and thereafter, keep that soil moist without being soggy.... especially the rose.... expect shock, leaf loss and wilting....give a rooting solution if you wish, but NO fertilizer ..... attend to them like you're obsessed!!.... the hot sun, the heat, the dry air will all try to ruin the move.... luck to you!...
