  1. I have a Lonely Plant book for Chile.  In page 81 it reads:

    "Shipping a Vehicle

    Given its openness toward foreign trade and tourism, Chile is probably the best country on the continent to ship an overseas vehicle to.  To find a reliable shipper, check the yellow pages of your local phone directory under Automobile Transporters.  Most transporters are more accustomed to arranging shipments between North America and Europe, so it may take some of them time to work out details.  When shipping a vehicle into Chile, do not leave anything whatsoever of value in the vehicle if at all possible.  Theft, of tools in particular, is very common."

    ►Edit: I read the @ below, that's good advice about not leaving anything in the car. I used to work on the docks, and it's common knowledge that anything that is not welded on, is going to be stolen, for sure. Don't even leave much gas in it.
