Question:

I need to update my BIOS on another computer, but have never even heard of that before..how do i do this?

Okay, what do i need to know, where do i download BIOS updating software...are all for motherboards? because i'm doing this to help fix my wireless adapter in the desktop...so i'm just really, really confused about this...i know it's basic input output system or something close to that, but yes, what do i need to know, what do i have to do?

YOU MUST WATCH OUT WHEN UPDATING A BIOS MANUALLY!  s******g up any section can cause your computer to stop functioning, possibly permanently.  That being said, you can usually automatically update your bios from the manufacturer's website (I.E. for a Toshiba laptop go to www.toshiba.com and look up the support for your computer).  If this does not work, you must update the bios manually.  When you first turn on your computer, you will have a screen that says the name of your manufacturer and a series of buttons to press.  What you want is the button to manually change the BIOS (usually F2, the higher numbers like F8 and F10 are usually used to change the boot menu).  From here, you can change the BIOS which will determine what will happen when you turn on your machine.
