I need to upgrade my network along with get a shared internet connection...?

i have 5 PCs i need on my shared internet connection through a network bridge i am sharing my dial-up (don't say sharing dial-up is stupid or something i know) i have a linksys router right now hooked up to my 4 PCs and i need to get the 5th one connected but all i have is 2 hues: a old 10 mb/s 8 port mini hub with 1 BnC outlet and newer (but any anything near new) 5 port 10/100 SOHO ware hub. my question is can i share this connection through mu hub+my wireless router or can i use just the hub or only the router?

  1. When you say hub, I am going to assume you mean a switch. Please make sure what you have is a 10/100 switch.

    A hub is an obsolete device these days. You do not want to consider trying to use one in the setup you have.

    A 10/100 switch will allow you to extend your network. Disconnect one computer from your router, plug the switch into the router and plug the other computers into the switch. The router will take care of addressing, and the switch requires no setup, so you are ready to go.

    If there is any doubt about what your hardware is, then just get a 4 port switch. They are down to $20 or less in any computer store
